Motor drive tank cleaning heads work differently to reaction drive models. The turning motion of the MD serires tank cleaning head is driven by a motor within the body enabling for a low speed rotation of the nozzle. Designs using a motor that is driven by the water passing through are referred to as motor drive. Motors powered by electric is referred to as positive drive. The lower rotating speeds of these models means that jet streams remain full and are not broken up into droplets by the centrifugal force. This means that the full impact force of the jets energy is directed at the tank surface
